Formula One in Austin for 10 years? Wow. http://goo.gl/f6nA
Brutal lesson of the day: listen to your body. Afternoon nausea + evening Splash n Dash = BARF. Still feel terrible. Big mistake

I wish this administration would stop trying to meddle in the current housing situation, and stop throwing my money away: http://goo.gl/kXQv. All they do is prolong the inevitable and waste money. If you bought a house you can’t afford, you should lose it. If you’re a bank that gave out a bunch of bad loans, you should go out of business. Why does Obama think he needs to save everyone? The...
Gold’s gym pool was warm and cloudy today. Couldn’t see 10 feet underwater. Nasty
Health care bill is just another step towards our fiscal downfall. Horrible spending by Republicans under Bush continued by even worse spending by Democrats under Obama: http://goo.gl/P6zj

Heading to Utah for some snowboarding. Have to start training for my Sochi 2014 bid in snowboardcross.
Anonymous quote that I came across in The Liberator Online. Sums it up nicely.
WHAT COULD GO WRONG? ”Now, let me get this straight…..We are going to pass a health care plan written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn’t understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn’t read it but exempts themselves from it, to be signed by a president who also hasn’t read it...
Cold, wet bike ride this morning. Power and endurance seem to be returning though

I love snowboardcross. If only I could land those big jumps…
I would pay to see you on that course. Ha!
All I need is a couple of practice runs and I’d be set!

Started the 2010 triathlon training plan today with a swim. More out of shape than I thought. Lots of fun work ahead

It’s Not a Big iPhone

John Gruber in response to Marco Arment:
I would say that redefining mobile computing is exactly what happened. It is surprisingly, delightfully, iPhone-esque in many ways. But if you use it for just a few minutes, it becomes obvious that the iPad is not a big stretched-out iPhone, but rather that the iPhone is a shrunken stripped-down version of the iPad. The iPad is what...
Nice quote I just read from Po Bronson: “your responsibilities don’t keep you from your purpose, they are part of your purpose”
Disappointed in the finish of the NFC game last. Not that I wanted the Vikings to win, but hate to see a team blow it the way they did
Caught up on two shows over the break: Fringe and Heroes. Fringe continues to be awesome and is one of my favorite shows. Heroes continued its streak of being boring this year, and reminded me of its boring fall season from last year. Sylar continues to be the best character, and when they put the shackles on him it really hurts my interest.
Good news ahead though: both Chuck and Lost are back...

Downloaded both Jay-Z’s and Alicia Keys’ versions of “Empire State of Mind”. Alicia Keys’ is much better, in the same way that Dido’s “Thank You” was way better than Eminem’s “Stan”.
Would love to have seen this in person: http://bit.ly/7nTySh. Saw a failed rocket launch in California one time which wasn’t quite as spectacular

Hate Crime Laws -- Why?
Do we really need a law for hate crimes? If someone is already committing a crime, does it really matter that they did it because they didn’t like the person’s race, sexual orientation, or religion? I don’t see why the law should differentiate between someone punching you in the face because you’re gay vs. because you’re a jerk.
Amen to this. This is happening all over the U.S. generally, but I see the exact same thing happening at Dell. People who are just trying to hold onto their jobs or just wait for work are getting their jobs moved to China or India. Why should a company in the U.S. pay someone more to do the same job as someone in one of these countries that might be better educated, perform better, and certainly...
